Newling Fruitgrowers Ltd are now harvesting solar energy

Read the case study

As well as harvesting high quality fruit, Newling Fruit are now harvesting greener energy with their new solar PV installation.

Newling Fruitgrowers Ltd was established around 1922 since then have become a major fruit grower in the UK, supplying the country with top quality pears, apples, and other fruit varieties. Employing hundreds of experienced fruit pickers during the peak harvest season in September, they are capable of filling around 200 crates of high-quality fruit each day (around 300kg each), which is then packaged and sent to fill the shelves of UK supermarkets and large juice producers.

Power Purchase Agreement Project (PPA)

Harvest Green Developments have partnered with Newling Fruitgrowers to deliver a stunning new solar energy PV installation to their packing facility in Wisbech that is capable of generating 441.86kWp worth of clean energy under a Power Purchase Agreement. This means that Newling Fruitgrowers did not have to release any upfront capital to fund their renewable energy installation in order to benefit from the cheaper energy costs and reduction in their carbon footprint.

Install Type

SolarEdge optimised Solar PV System with a DC system size of 441.86kWp. Import & Export monitoring to allow the client to measure energy use within the facility.

Technology
