Enovert Energy Park is making significant progress in its fourth week of development in Gloucester, with the installation of the pile ground-mounted framework almost completed and the solar panels starting to be installed. This project aims to transform a former landfill into a solar park generating 2.116MW of clean energy.
We are pleased to report that we are currently in the fourth week of construction and we are ahead of schedule. The ground mounted framework is almost fully installed, with over 670 solar panels now mounted into position, and there has been substantial progress made in the digging of the main trenches which are being prepared for the laying of cables. In addition, work has also started on building the perimeter fencing that will secure the energy park.
The installation process will continue in week five, focusing on mounting additional solar panels, as well as work commencing on the building of the inverter stations, which is a critical component for optimising the energy generated by the solar panels.
The installation of the mounting kit has successfully started, ensuring the solar panels are securely anchored in an optimal position despite the site’s challenging conditions. Prior to construction, thorough assessments were conducted to guarantee the ground stability, which has proven essential for the success of the pile-design ground mounted framework.
Once completed, the solar PV installation is expected to produce about 2,140,771 kWh of electricity annually, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 293,268kg each year, which is equivalent to removing around 130 fossil-fuel cars from the road.
The project involves 4,032 Tier 1 solar panels from Longi Solar and 16 Solis inverters, all geared towards efficient sunlight harnessing. Collaboration among Enovert, local authorities, and stakeholders has been key to adhering to environmental best practices and meeting timelines, with project completion expected by December 2024.
