Harvest Green Developments have partnered with Climate Integrated Solutions, a renewable energy consultant, to deliver an array of solar panels for schools, including All Saints C of E Primary School and Nursey located in Hertfordshire. The solar PV system installed to the school’s rooftop generates 30.36kW of clean electricity that is used to power the school’s facilities.
We provided Climate Integrated Solutions with a comprehensive design that was carefully tailored to ensure that the vast majority of the renewable energy produced by the solar panels is consumed by the school. Since the school, by nature has reduced electricity usage during the weekends and summer holidays, it was vital that we did not design the system to be too big in order to minimise any wastage of the free electricity that is generated.
In a climate where energy prices are unstable and expensive, solar PV is an advantageous solution which allows businesses and schools to take back control over electricity bills and provide a degree of security when it comes to budgeting for energy expenditure. This means that schools like All Saints C of E Primary School and Nursery can look to invest in the growth and education of their students as they should, rather than worry about the cost to heat and light the classrooms. Out of all renewable energy solutions available, solar panels for schools is the most efficient and cost-effective to achieve a quicker payback on the investment. Schools also have the additional benefit of having a real-life experience to help educate their students about the importance of protecting our environment and demonstrating that everyone needs to do their bit in the fight against climate change.
Technology
Solar panels provided by Hanwha Q Cells were used in conjunction with the latest module-level optimisation technology from SolarEdge inverters, and mounting kit supplied by Van Der Valk.
