Major doorset manufacturer, Principal Doorsets, open their door to a greener future with their new solar PV installation

In September 2023, Harvest Green Developments commissioned 544.32kWp of solar generation across the rooftop of Principal Doorsets‘ manufacturing facility. This introduction to renewable energy, has allowed the company to significantly reduce their carbon footprint with the system saving 65,092.13 kg of CO2 emissions to date (July 2024), which is equivalent to planting 3,938 trees.

Established in 2014, Principal Doorsets manufacture high-quality doors from their 80,000 sq.ft unit on a 3.75 acre site in Barnstaple, North Devon. With their latest CNC machinery, they can produce beautiful doorsets to great precision and flexibility, which is complemented by their exceptional customer service and technical expertise.

Technology

This 544.32kWp solar PV installation is made up of 1296 solar panels supplied by Trina Solar, module-optimised inverters supplied by SolarEdge, and mounting kit supplied by Rubicon UK.
